The left-wing media’s philosophy appears to be, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” This was evident even before the online spat between Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene, when all the major publications suddenly found a strange new respect for the Jewish space laser lady.
On Friday, the New York Times had a piece about how MAGA is having second doubts about Trump and America First, citing Greene as a critic of Trump. Greene attacked Trump for being too focused on foreign policy instead of healthcare—put another way, be more like Barack Obama, Donald!
The piece also quoted Thomas Massie (I was attacking Massie here before it became cool for Republicans), who accused Trump of protecting pedophiles. (Massie is actually upset that Trump is supporting his primary challenger.)
The Washington Post had a similar story. It also cited Greene and Massie. It quoted Greene, “I am America First and America Only,” and quoted Massie, “[Trump] has distanced himself from the MAGA base.”

When the two biggest left-wing newspapers publish the same story within 24 hours, your alarm bells should go off.
But let me mention some of their previous coverage of Greene and Massie.
They have called Greene a QAnon conspiracy theorist, accused her of being pro-January 6, mocked her about her comment that Jews used a space laser to cause wildfires, and more.
They have attacked Massie for being a conspiracy theorist about January 6 being an FBI inside job, having a gun fetish which contributes to the “toxic gun culture,” and being far-right (note that there is no such thing as “far-left” for the Times and the Post).
I rarely agree with the left-wing media, but when they were going after these crazies on our side, I thought that they had a point. This is back when they were on Trump’s side. Now that they have turned on Trump, I have not changed my mind, because my principles are independent of one person. Unfortunately, the left is the opposite. Their only principle is that Trump and Israel are bad.
This newfound respect for Greene and Massie began a few months ago, when they started promoting anti-Zionist ideas on the right. The turn on Trump brought it to its inevitable destination: an unholy alliance between the left and the crazy right.
These two newspapers are not alone, either. The Bulwark is also promoting Greene. Its podcast host, Tim Miller, responded to a CNN interview with Greene, “No lies from MTG (Marjorie Taylor Greene) detected in this clip.” To each their own, but, if a conspiracy crazy theorist posted a cute puppy video, I would not retweet it, let alone commentary on politics.
Never Trumper Matt Lewis called Greene a “leader,” and wrote, “The thing I’m liking about Greene isn’t just that she’s standing up to Trump — although, I admit, it’s fun to watch. But what’s really refreshing is that she’s a true believer who got elected, got famous and yet continues to believe.” Come on!
It is not like Greene is a principled conservative going after Trump over conservative principles like many other Republicans do. During the shutdown, she was attacking Trump for not extending Obamacare subsidies, receiving praise from House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, who called her an ally. I thought that the one thing all Republicans agreed on was that universal healthcare is bad!
But policy does not matter anymore. It is all about one personality: Trump. If you are against him, the tent is big enough for you, even if you are a crazy person.
We are so lucky that Hitler was not invading Poland today. If he were, all he had to do was accuse Trump of covering up the Epstein scandal; the entire left would have defended him that Poland had always been a German territory!
